Today begins Comment Challenge 2011. Running through Wednesday, January 26, the goal is to comment on five book blogs a day. Keep track of your numbers, report in on Wednesdays for support, and comment like you mean it for three weeks. At the end, we’ll award prizes at random to bloggers who’ve passed the 100 Comment Mark — along with some random participation prizes at the ending and check-in posts. If you have any questions, check out the FAQs or ask in the comments on that page.
Edited to add: I posted at midnight last night, but now I can add the link to Lee Wind’s Comment Challenge post of amazing and inspiring ideas. So sign up here, and then go there to get motivated and, you know, to comment.
Comment away!

ReplyDeleteI'm definitely in! I've been awful at commenting lately, but I've been working at this week. This will be a great way to hold myself accountable!

ReplyDeleteSo glad this is running again! I had a ball with it last year and discovered loads of great new blogs. Looking forward to a similar journey full of adventure and camaraderie this year!
ReplyDeleteI love your doing this, Mother Reader! Hey, in a piece of great timing, Nathan Bransford posted today on the art of writing good comments: http://blog.nathanbransford.com/2011/01/how-to-write-good-blog-comment.html
ReplyDeleteThis will be great, thanks. I am definitely in.
ReplyDeleteI usually comment at at least 5 blogs a day anyway so this should be a no-brainer! Thanks for hosting!

ReplyDeleteI's ok, Tricia, you can say "ass" here.
ReplyDeleteHi, all. Looking forward to it!
what a fun idea.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting this.
ReplyDeleteYour Comment Challenge last year transformed me from a lurker, into a commenter - something which I didn't think was possible.
The Comment Challenge - sure, it's about comments, but for me, it was impetus to start reading even more blogs... which in turn, inspired new ideas on my own blog!
I'm in! Thanks for the challenge - looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteI'm in! Thank you both for setting up this Challenge. I always love to find new book blogs, and I've recently started a blog that I hope people will find and enjoy. Yay for community!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great idea! I'm looking forward to discovering some new blogs, too.
ReplyDeleteI will be on my annual Retreat Week next week and out of contact with the world to as great an extent as possible. But, otherwise, I'm feeling more social than usual, so I'll see what I can do the rest of the time. And as Greg said above--this post counts as Number 1!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHuzzah! I was hoping this would crop up again! Thanks for organizing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way for me to explore some new book blogs.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. Can't wait to get started!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting this! I'm looking forward to making new connections.
ReplyDeleteI remember this from last year -- thanks for doing it again.
ReplyDeleteHey look, first comment done and four more to go! I am so excited for this, actually looking forward to discovering some new writer blogs.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adored this challenge last year! I'm going to do my best to do at least 5 a day, maybe more, but ALA may get in the way this weekend...we'll see! There's always commenting via phone and Nook, right? ;o)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for hosting this again!
Thanks so much, Pam! In London til Monday but will begin commenting in earnest then.
ReplyDeleteIt takes 40 days to form a habit, but this will give us all a good start!
ReplyDeleteThis is an amazing way to get book bloggers together. I hope to learn more about authors, illustrators and publishers. I also enjoy learning about different organizations that promote literacy with a passion! Already have seen so many good sites and suggestions to have fun reading. Thanks for all you do.

ReplyDeleteI'm in! Last year was a lot of fun. :)
ReplyDeleteOkay. I'm in, lol. I saw your comment to Nathan's blog on commenting, then saw Greg's post on the Happy Accident. No. More. Hesitating. Thanks for organizing this you two. Going to be a great time of reading and commenting.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful idea and challenge. Thanks for putting this together!

ReplyDeleteI am ready to play...and to catch up! Thank you, Pam and Lee! See you around the comment corners. A.

ReplyDeleteGreat contest!! I'm in!
ReplyDeleteSeriously need to go get more coffee-looking at the blog lists and thought cool name for a blog "You're Next" Sigh.
ReplyDeleteI remember this from last year and never participated fully! So I'm happy you guys are running it again this year! Thanks! :)

My first time! This is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI have never tried this, but it sounds great!
ReplyDeleteOops, joining a little late this year! This challenge helped me develop a "comment more" habit last year, and I'm hoping it'll push me to comment even more this year. Thanks for having this challenge!
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun! I'm in! Looking forward to discovering some new blogs!
ReplyDeleteThis really WILL be a challenge! Will be fun, though.
ReplyDeleteI'm joining in a few days late but I'll catch up. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI loved this last year, so I'm so glad you guys are continuing the tradition!
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit late to the game, but I'll just have to comment like crazy this week. Great idea. Thanks for organizing!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea. No excuses for slackers like me. I will get started. Emma
ReplyDeleteI'm in, too, MR, but I'm going to have to work hard, since it's Jan 13!
ReplyDeleteBut, this will give me a chance to catch up with the kidlitosphere as it is now.
Thank you, this is a great idea!
ReplyDeleteWe're all in! Thanks for doing this.
ReplyDeleteNothing like structure to encourage good habits. Thanks so much for doing this!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great challenge! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm coming in really late to this, but I've actually kept track of my comments since the 11th, when I first stumbled upon your blog. Does it still count?? I'm only up to about 56 comments, LOL. I'll definitely get here on time next year!
ReplyDeleteNever too late to sign in! Never too late to comment! Thanks for playing!
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome idea!
ReplyDeleteLee said to check in over here now that the CC is coming to a close--I assume this post is the right spot? Anyway, I have posted 5 comments per day throughout, cleaned up my blog roll, and read some very cool posts. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWhew! This last week was a tough one, and I didn't write many comments. The first two weeks went much better. Overall, I discovered many wonderful blogs that I'll be reading from now on, and received some great comments on my own. While I don't think I'll attempt 5 comments a day, I will try for 2 to 3. Great challenge!
