What a great topic! I play chess to give the left side of my brain some activity -- although there is a little creativity involved in the strategy. I suck at it, but I really enjoy playing. A definite break from Reading and 'Riting.

I'm a good listener - both friends and students have told me that. My 6th grade daughter doesn't always agree, but I think that may be because she is a pre-teen.
I always try to really listen to what someone is saying before I start to form a response. I also always try to ask if someone wants advice before giving it - thought sometimes is slips out!

Volunteering! I'm a dependable volunteer and an optimistic coordinator. I coordinate our school's bookfairs and science fair as well as volunteer as a Sunday School teacher and PTO chair and help out with Girl Scouts. If I get any better at volunteering, I'm pretty sure my husband will object.
