Stock your snacks and stack your books, because this is happening. This. Is. Happening.
Review the rules and info. When you start your 48 hours, sign in with Mr. Linky below. Keep track of your time — which includes reading, blogging, and some connecting (for every five hours reading/reviewing you can take one hour of blog reading, tweeting, and general bookish socializing). To keep the Starting Line post at the top of my blog, I won’t publish my personal posts until sometime Saturday afternoon.
On Sunday, I’ll have a Finish Line post where you can leave the link to your final summary, which should include the amount of time spent on the challenge. Feel free to round to the quarter hour. Please include the amount that you've pledged to Reading Is Fundamental in your post. As another incentive to sign out on the Finish Line post, I''ll give a dollar per 48HBC finisher.
Let's rock and read.

Okay, I'm actually starting later but I had to test out Mr. Linky first. Carry on, readers. Carry on.
I'm getting started at 7am this morning with Dashner's The Maze Runner. Woo Hoo!
I'm starting at 9 this morning! Looking forward to a weekend of reading. :)
And I am starting about 9 AM with a re-read from childhood of THE BOXCAR CHILDREN to be followed by some reading from my 4th grade elementary school reader which I received in the mail yesterday having tracked one down for a reasonable price! HIGH ROADS by Houghton Mifflin. Looking forward to a fun weekend of reading with all of you!
Starting at 8:30 this morning! Thanks again for carrying on this tradition.
A pile of books awaits me at 8pm tonight...can't wait. Thanks for setting up the challenge!
Hi Pam, I can't participate this year because I have company (yet again. I would definitely rather be quietly reading.) But i will send in a donation to RIF anyway.
It was great seeing you again this week in NYC and hope to see you in September at Kitlit Con.
I will start later today. Have you gotten my emails regarding prizes?
I'm in! Looking forward to a relaxing weekend of reading. Thanks for running this challenge.
I'm starting at 11. That gives dependents twenty minutes to make their needs known. Thanks for hosting this, and have fun reading!
Starting at noon, can't wait!!
Been going for a bit now... I love this weekend! (Thanks, Pam, for your work putting it together.)
Starting now, ~9:40 am. Can't wait!
Hi there! Getting started about 10:10 am Friday by finishing off Veronica Roth's INSURGENT. (Yeah, I know it's lame to start with an in-progress book, but I have to finish it, and I can't change my participation period due to previous commitments on Sunday...) Anyway, I will count it in my books read total as half a book, since I'm almost exactly half done. :D Hopefully that's fair!
Starting out at 12:45 p.m. Central time! I have my books, my caffeine, and my snacks. This year I will not fail!
Here I go at 1pm CST! 2nd year and got my audiobook this year! Woo! This is like Christmas for me; I've been waiting all year for this.
I'm stumbling over the starting line...
Starting now and will be reading outside for most of the day.
I still see my comment but I no longer see myself listed in the links. Should I repost my link? I'm Kelly @muellerspace
I'll be starting at about 7:30 tonight. My sweet husband is catering dinner for me. I've got my books lined up, snacks for tomorrow and an audiobook downloaded for the times I'll be on the road. Looking forward to another fun challenge :)
I'm just starting now, but my daughter couldn't wait and started earlier. She's already read for an hour.
I am starting at 8 pm tonight. Have a commitment to attend to first.
I've begun my challenge- in fact, just finished my first book. So ready for this!
whoot!
Let the reading begin.
Have a great time everyone.
It's finally here! I'm starting this thing at 8pm! So excited!
My start time got delayed, but I'm here! Starting at 8:00 pm.
My Kindle is loaded and I am starting at 9. What a great way to kick off the summer reading season.
I'm starting in four minutes (7:00pm Friday night my time). I can't wait! I've already screwed up by just posting a link to my blog and not my specific starting line post. Sorry! My To Read pile is massive, but I'm looking forward to making a dent in it.
Ready for a great weekend of reading! So glad I am participating this year...I missed it last year but this will still be my third year of reading for this event. Happy Reading and Goodnight to All!

Stiletto Storytime
Signing in, 7:15pm Pacific Time. First on deck, finishing the new Quinn Cummings book.
As of 7:30, I've officially started the challenge. Happy reading everyone :)
Starting up now - 8:30 p.m. my time. First up: Kimberly Willis Holt's When Zachary Beaver Came to Town. Woohooo!
Starting out, much delayed but ready to go!
9:00 and I and my sons are off!
I really hate this capcha; so far I've failed it five times. This comment may not get posted.
Beth, yep it took me a couple tries to get it as well and I refuse to listen to the scary cult voices "read" me the words.
I'm about to start! Yaaaaaaaay!
Starting in about 45 minutes and posting now since I need to get ready for my race. Book marathon + 10K race = double the fun.
Finally! And now I'm off to read! .... Unless I fall back asleep... ;)
I'm not having any luck at all with Mr. Linky. I thought I had posted my start post last night, but this morning it's nowhere to be seen. And I tried three times ths morning---I hope it doesn't show up three or four times in Mr. Linky later. Anyway I started last night at 1030, and I'm trying to read Palace Walk by Naguib Mafouz.
Finally got my start line post up, after slow internet connections confounded me earlier...
I'm in!
First book down!
Hope to manage a 24 hour+ challenge. Ah, Life! Off to read.
Starting late because of a last minute family reunion, but 36 hours is better than nothing!
Just found out about the challenge but have added it to my 2012 challenge page so I'll look for it next year!
I thought I had commented and left a link when I started Friday night at 9. I do not see either now and wonder if I was dreaming...or if I have just been reading too much. Actually, had to break for graduation parties so I think I will be posting on the light side of the challenge. This is my first time participating so I hope I am following protocols correctly. I wandered back here to read some posts as I am in my hour of networking.
