105 Ways to Give a Book

President Obama’s Storytime

President Obama read to children at the White House Easter event like a real storytime professional. In reading Where the Wild Things Are, he howled the terrible howl and showed the terrible claws. And he responded like a champ to the kid — and there’s one in every storytime — saying, “I can’t see!”

Obama does a great job reading, and being one with the book and the kids! He could have been a librarian in another life!

This made me laugh. Now, all he has to do is get a little more familiar with the book and then read it backwards and upside down -- like a librarian or an early childhood teacher!

Fantastic-- although he committed a real rookie mistake there, I have to say... no mention of the author when he introduced the book! (As a former preschool teacher, I take my reading aloud very seriously!)

Thanks for sharing this-- I've passed it along as well. :)

I noticed that he didn't say the author's name too--I hope Fox News doesn't bust him for plagiarism or failure to correctly site his sources...
