105 Ways to Give a Book

Comment Challenge 2010: Push to the Finish

We are closing in on the finish line for Comment Challenge 2010, but there is still time to get in your one hundred comments. To help you make that last push, Lee Wind and I have pulled together our prize packages, which will be awarded to three folks selected at random from the 100 Commenter Club.
The Cybils YA Package
A selection of three of the Cybils Young Adult Fiction finalists

The Electronic Package
The e-book The Zen of Blogging and a $15 Amazon credit

The All Ages Package
A selection of signed books for preschool, early chapter, middle-grade, and young adult.
There will also be prizes awarded at random from everyone who signs in at the finish line post with their totals (or estimated totals) from the Comment Challenge. So even if you didn’t make it to a hundred comments, join us at the party on Thursday and talk about how you did. You may even win a prize — a handmade blank journal to track your thoughts, a MotherReader handmade recycled paper necklace, a YA ARC, or maybe something I don’t even know about yet.

Read, Blog, Comment. You can do it!

Well I am nowhere near 100 comments, but I have enjoyed this and it has pushed me to comment so much more. Thanks, once again, for the push.

I passed the 100 comment mark yesterday, but I've received so much in return. Thanks for building our community or readers, writers, teachers and parents. It's been a treat.

I've been plugging along at the five/day level, so I should make it to the finish. I was thinking of it as five a day, not 100 comments, so I never count extras towards the next day. Dang!

Oh, I am nowhere near 100 ... but I have been commenting lots more than usual and I have been exploring new blogs all month. Totally sweet experience.

I'd be happy to contribute a signed copy of TRACKING TRASH, MR, if you'd like to add it to your gift loot. Let me know.

YAY! I love that we're giving out PRIZES! That makes this whole thing seem so official!

Should we tell them about the secret bonus prizes inside the other prize packages?

Ohh, what fun this final dash to the comment finish line will be!

Namaste,
Lee

Okay, I'm feeling motivated now. I think I have a little catching up to do!

I've been averaging at least 5 a day and noting them down on my daily schedule to keep track of where I've been. I'll have to go back to add them all up, but I know I'll make 100. Maybe I already have. :)

This has really been a great experience. I normally comment pretty frequently, but this made me push myself even further. I've actually been averaging about 10 or more comments a day now because of this. Thanks so much!

Wow, swag too...it was fun just finding out how easy it was to join conversations. I am just over 100. The best part - it got me in the habit of touching base in my reader daily and now that has become a wonderful habit as well.

I am pushing....I just left ten comments (this makes 11, but I'm not counting it). So I'm up to fifty-ish...I will make 100. I will.

(although I realize that procrastinating and desperatly commenting all over the place in the last ten minutes of the challenge is not the calm, habit-forming point. But I cannot change who I am...)

I've not kept track but commenting on more blogs really helped me look around more! Very Fun to get extra comments on my own blog!

I joined the challenge a day late, but I caught up. I'm probably at about 85 now - maybe more. I've tracked 5 or more a day pretty consistently. It's been fun and I've learned a lot. To top it off - you were right. It is habit forming - which was the whole point. Prizes too? Wow!

Woohoo, let's see if I can make comments on 100 blogs in a day and a half! Starting with you!!! Great site by the way and great idea.

I am just beginning to learn about blogs. I am overwhelmed at all I have read so far today. I am taking Anastasia Suen's class on blogging and it is so interesting. I found your challenge simply wonderful. I wish I had known about it sooner but in time, I guess I'll become a blogger.

I'm not sure if I'm going to actually hit 100 or not (although I think I'll come close), but this has been great fun and has introduced me to a lot of awesome new-to-me blogs. Thanks for doing this!

I'm pitiful! Maybe I was too hard on myself for only counting comments on new blogs to me. I kept track though, and my grand total is 7. haha

No commenting for me today to even get to 10. :)

I had my doubts, but I made it! 100 posts! Thank you for the challenge. It was fun and interesting to get out and read, write, reflect and connect. Happy blogging, everyone!
