Oh my god, the 48-hour-challenge. I knew I was forgetting something this weekend...and I had gotten "Octavian Nothing" and "The Book Thief" just for this purpose! I'm up, and thank-you, so much, MotherReader (and PapaBook), for doing all the work despite your own personal Girl Scouting dramas!

I had SO MUCH fun with this. I needed a self-indulgent weekend, and I just loved it.

I found writing the breezy, personal little reviews incredibly liberating too. I usually spend a couple of hours writing a long, analytical review - which is probably why I'm about ten books behind. There's a lesson there.

4+ hours of listening to "Tales from Lake Woebegone" by Garrison Keillor with hubby, 9 yr old and 10 month old in a car, driving for 12+ hours VA to upstate NY and back.
I know, it's not READING per se, but it was the best I could do under the circumstances. Maybe I'll even 'review' the stories/tapes. Yes, tapes!!
I hope to really participate next year.
